The Petaling Jaya City Council has organized a ‘Focus Group Discussion’ (FGD) Session for the Potential Study & Targets of the Semiconductor Industry Planning and the International Transport Hub in Petaling Jaya and was held on 3rd October 2024 at M Resort & Hotel, officiated by YBrs. Tuan Hj. Mohamad Zahri bin Hj. Samingon, Mayor Petaling Jaya.
The aim of this FGD is to gather the views of stakeholders in the semiconductor industry and international transport hubs to identify potential, challenges and development needs in Petaling Jaya for the preparation of Local Plan 2035 (Replacement).
The FGD session covers policy, planning and experience sharing by stakeholders related to the semiconductor industry namely from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry Malaysia (MITI), Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) and Semiconductor Company NXP Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Whereas the sharing relates to international transport hubs from Land Railway Malay Berhad (KTMB) and Federation of Malaysian Freight Hantarers (FMFF).
The FGD session was joined by various stakeholders including Members of the State Assembly, Members of the Council, representatives of government agencies and related private companies.
