The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) continues to be committed to empowering local entrepreneurs through various high-impact initiatives, including the hosting of the Petaling Jaya Potential Entrepreneurs Awards Ceremony 2024 which took place at the Banquet Hall, MBPJ today. The inauguration session has been completed by YB Tuan Mohd Najwan Bin Halimi, Exco of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship of the State of Selangor.
Also present are YBrs. Tuan Hj. Mohamad Zahri bin Hj. Samingon, Mayor of Petaling Jaya, Tuan Mohd Fauzi bin Maarof, Deputy Secretary of MBPJ Management and Ms Hanisah binti Haidzir, Assistant Director of Sectoral Section, SUK Selangor Office.
This ceremony aims to recognize the achievement of entrepreneurs as well as encourage the participation of more entrepreneurs in MBPJ entrepreneurship course. A total of four (4) awards have been handed out namely Digital Icon Award, Best Business Planning Award, Best Financial Management Award and Petaling Jaya Potential Entrepreneur Award 2024
Since the implementation of the Petaling Jaya Entrepreneur Development Strategic Plan 2021-2030, MBPJ has successfully trained over 4,700 micro entrepreneurs. This initiative has yielded tremendous results as it has seen an increase in sales results, improved product quality and more efficient business management.
MBPJ becomes the only Local Authority (PBT) in Selangor that organizes a program like this. Together with MBPJ, we continue to drive the community economy and realize the aspirations of making Petaling Jaya a smart, sustainable and resilient city.
