MBPJ RECEIVED TWO MAJOR AWARDS IN CELEBRATION OF WORLD URBAN PLANNING DAY (HPBS) 2023

The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has received two major awards, namely the Most Sustainable City Award 2023 and the Smart City Early Adopter 2023 Rating Award in conjunction with the World Urban Planning Day (HPBS) 2023, which was completed by YBhg. Datuk Wira M Noor Azman bin Taib, Secretary General of the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT) which took place on 9 November last at Dewan Seri Siantan, Putrajaya Corporate Conference Complex.
This award was received by the Deputy Mayor of Petaling Jaya, YBrs. Tuan Aznan Bin Haji Hassan was accompanied by the Director, Deputy Director and Officers of the City Planning Department as the secretariat of the MURNInets and Smart City programs.
This award received is a proud achievement for all MBPJ Employees, especially the top management and Council Members for always helping in the preparation of policies, policies and directions in the aspect of Urban Sustainability and Smart Cities.
This Sustainable City Scoring is based on the MURNInets Sustainable City Measurement which is evaluated based on 6 main dimensions which are Competitive Economy, Environmental Quality, Prosperous Community, Optimum Land Use and Natural Resources, Efficient Infrastructure and Transport and Effective Governance.
As for the Smart City Early Adopter Rating Award, it is evaluated based on the evaluation results of the evaluation panel of the Smart City Rating Committee that has raised and certified MBPJ as a Smart City based on 10 indicators, namely City Services Requested Online, Construction Permits Through e-Submission, E-Payment to the City, Online Booking for Public Recreation and Sports Facilities, Digital Surveillance Camera, Smart Street Light with Performance System, Refurbished / Newly Installed Street Lighting, Parking Space with e-Payment Systems, Intelligent / Smart Traffic Lights and Fast Broadband.
The Petaling Jaya City Council will continue to be committed to offering and providing efficient, efficient and effective City services in line with the high expectations of stakeholders and residents of Petaling Jaya.
MBPJ is also committed to planning and implementing initiatives that can contribute to the improvement of the national economy as well as benefit the people in enjoying a quality and prosperous life.
