PETALING JAYA, December 3, 2024 – MBPJ Workers' Assembly & Innovation Day Celebration 2024 hosted by the Corporate Communications Unit took place successfully today at the Banquet Hall.
Themed “Facing Innovation Challenges in the Digital Era,” this assembly was attended by 700 employees of the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) as a token of appreciation for their outstanding services, efforts and achievements including awards and recognition achieved throughout the year of 2024.
YBrs. Tuan Hj. Mohamad Zahri bin Hj. Samingon, Mayor of Petaling Jaya in his speech calling on all workers to continue to commit to strengthening the culture of innovation in MBPJ. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that every innovation generated brings significant benefits, not only to the society but also to MBPJ as an organization.
The ceremony also witnessed the Launch of the MBPJ Innovation Tindakan Plan Book 2024-2028 as a strategic guide to drive the innovation agenda in the next five years.
Various interesting fillings were held including the exhibition of the Innovative and Creative Group (KIK), innovation sharing by the KIK Evaluation Panel as well as the winners of the Negeri Selangor Public Sector Innovation Award (AINS-SA), idea bank, and the search for a new KIK group for 2025. In addition, appreciation incentives are also given to the excellent KIK Group.
More special, this time the ceremony introduces the MBPJ Innovation Figures Special Award Recognition, an award that was held for the first time. Congratulations to Sir TPr. Lee Lih Shyan, Director of the Development Planning Department who has been named an awardee for his outstanding contributions to the field of innovation.
