Petaling Jaya City Council, receivers of UNESCO Learning City Award recognition, was visited by Ms. Carmel Berendi from Pécs University, Hungary, under the Thematic Learning City. Ms. Berendi is a Learning City researcher, ASEM Lifelong Learning Hub. Also, from the National University of Malaysia, Prof Dato' DR. Norazah Mohd Nordin joined, to share her experience with Petaling Jaya City Council. The implementation of Learning City in Petaling Jaya was explained by Mrs. Hjh Jafizatul Azlinda bt Jaafar, Assistant Senior Director of Information Technology who is also the secretariat of PJ Learning City. The focus, or also known as the target group of this includes children, teenagers, adults, public and private workers, senior citizens, people in need and many others. Later, the visiting delegation were also brought to PJ Eco Recycling Plaza, Sungai Way. Mr Lee Lih Shyan, Director, Department of Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning, explained about various activities carried out here including the awareness program of recycling.
